as you were…
It’s been challenging to hang here. There’s a regular easy flowing disregard for music/singer/lyric I hold dear to my heart. I find myself biting my tongue, scanning the views expressed and looking forward to a new stimulating post. So it goes. I came in during a kind atmosphere - uh um was gone, skies came in, but this recent barrage is almost unbearable. I see that you all have persevered thus far and I’m still glad to be aboard.

Yeah, don't give up. I just ignore it and go one.

I'm assuming you are talking about William Tell with his incessant meanderings and whinings about "how great" 1968 was. It's like he's only listened to 2 shows his entire life. Maybe 3.

I will try to reel him in, but honestly, I've tried and he's just too strong-willed. And at his computer a lot.

Well, we just go on I guess...

Oh, and that thing about the keyboardists - that definitely was funny.

You're mighty funny yourself there max.
And 1968 was one hell of a year.

Understood - and I'm surely guilty of such things. But a post his afternoon made me revisit a '86 Cal Expo show I pretty much remember as not being very good and which I've streamed at work. Lo and behold if the drums/space into the other one didn't make for some damn fine inspiration heading out of the office at the end of the day (although froggy jerry during comes a time got kind of hard to bear - ah, the mid-80s - warts and all).

Folks still come here for the one unifying force - the music.

Good post D! It's funny that it doesn't bother me much any more except in a really bizarre way--I feel bad for the folks involved (ie, when I see two "friends" going at it). Talk about insensitive...well, okay, I also feel bad for the newbies that witness it, but to be honest, I just loved hearing from the two new gals, esp Diana W., that they were already rolling with it--talk about level headed. Jessandra seemed cool after getting a lot of feedback encouraging her...

But, that's largely because as DMax noted (boy, he won't let up on me, eh?), I have been here long enough that I have enough "valued Forum friends" that there are always enough of those folks posting that the trolling posts always seem in the minority...pathetic, in a way, but there you have it...I get great value here even on days not much is said about the DEAD.

And thanks for sticking up for 68--I noticed! And thanks for sticking around too...

I think it is less offputting to newbies than you may think, because it is all inside jokes and I for one have no idea what three-quarters of the posts are even about. I try to figure out if certain people are joking or just evil but it's hard to tell :)

Good for you...and ah, the bliss of ignorance...

If only I could return to the days of my youth in which, happily, I did not understand 99% of what Rob, Dire or SDH posted!

Sadly, I now know what they are going to post before they do...

Well I still have no clue what you're on about a good half of the time, oh great Baron Acronym, the Dark Maven of Abbreviation.

But then you knew I was going to say that didn't you?

A quick snap shot of Tell excercising his new found mental abilities:

Damn it Rob, I'm a Dead Head, not a tool booth operator!

I just remembered where I saw this guy before. At just about every show I went to he was in the row behind me constantly shouting out what he felt was sure to be the next song. "They played Frank's twice this tour already and Jerry is wearing his blue socks, it's gonna be Playin'. Just you watch..." Ah, the mental capabilities of the over-medicated...

Blue socks = Playin'? What a fuggin' moron. Blue socks = Eyes. Green socks= Dark Star. Orange socks= Other One. Striped socks = Playin'.

Red Sox = Loser(s).

Yep, I always said that dude was short a transistor or two.

As for the Red Sox comment, I'll just let that one go.

Ah, Hell, no I wont.

Am I only one envisioning William Tell as Jim Carrey's The Riddler at the end of that not so good Batman movie?

I'd rather be Jack in the first movie...but now I am too wrapped up in my Chanel Sac Selection to care much about anything else but color coordination! What a great post--finally, some useful info here at the Forum (see above, Wongster's).

Indeed, old friend, we claim our victories where and when we can. Forgive me another quote:

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying.

relax skies, as one of the few female posters here, you are forgivin many sins-haha. Imo, love is grand but forgiveness is very healing. (na?)
Someone I'll leave unnamed is actually a fine fellow, but is moody as the tides.
A LOT of problems were do to language misunderstanding & smi2les paranoia - jest my opinion.

Though I contribute little to this forum, I get a lot of fun out of reading these threads and "drama"

Tancredo? I grow weary of politic's, right-left-up-down, imo, they are all clowns. I've found this last year to be humble pie for me. My vote is for you, BD.
You use logic and understanding beyond me, so does NC.
At 62 my life is (or seems to be)on a definite downward spiral, headed for some dark hollow, and void of self-delusion.

Perhaps depression medication or oblivion is in order. In any case, fare thee well!
